The Mulapnen Capacity Building Initiative (MUCABI), a community-based non-profit organisation committed to promoting peace, justice, security, and leadership development, has announced plans to launch the Ali Bukar Dalori Youth in Politics Programme in Jos, Plateau State.

The initiative is designed to mentor and equip young Nigerians interested in politics, governance, and public service with the knowledge, leadership values, and practical skills needed for responsible democratic participation.

According to the organisation, the programme seeks to address the growing disconnect between young people and Nigeria’s political process by creating structured opportunities for civic education, ethical leadership training, policy engagement, advocacy, and mentorship.

Speaking on the initiative, MUCABI stated that the programme will establish a mentorship network connecting emerging youth leaders with experienced public servants, political actors, and community leaders across Plateau State and beyond.
Tackling Electoral Violence Through Youth Engagement:
As part of the programme, MUCABI said participants will also receive training on peaceful political participation, conflict prevention, and strategies for reducing electoral violence among young people.

The organisation noted that many youths are often exposed to political manipulation, intimidation, and violence during elections due to unemployment, lack of orientation, and limited access to constructive political engagement.

“The programme is aimed at changing the narrative by encouraging issue-based politics, dialogue, tolerance, and democratic values among young Nigerians,” the organisation said. “We believe young people must become ambassadors of peace during elections rather than instruments of violence.”

Building a Lasting Leadership Legacy:MUCABI described the initiative as more than a training programme, noting that it is envisioned as a lasting leadership legacy platform that will inspire generations of young Nigerians toward peaceful, issue-based, and service-oriented politics.
The organisation stated that the programme seeks to immortalize Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori’s contributions to youth development, democratic participation, and responsible leadership in Nigeria.

According to MUCABI, the initiative reflects the values of integrity, accountability, discipline, and public service associated with Alhaji Dalori’s leadership journey and aims to pass those values on to the next generation.

Leadership Book to Support Training:In preparation for the launch, MUCABI has authored a book documenting the life, leadership journey, and contributions of Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori to public service and political development.

The book, which will be officially unveiled during the launch ceremony, is expected to serve as a core training resource for participants enrolled in the programme.
According to the organisation, the publication is intended to preserve Alhaji Dalori’s legacy while presenting practical leadership lessons for young Nigerians aspiring to participate in politics and governance.

Launch Date: The official launch of the programme is scheduled to hold on Thursday, June 12, 2026, in Jos, Plateau State, to commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

MUCABI explained that the choice of Democracy Day reflects the programme’s commitment to strengthening democratic culture, promoting youth inclusion, and encouraging active citizenship.

Request for Endorsement:
The organisation disclosed that it has formally written to Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori seeking approval to use his name and legacy for the initiative, as well as requesting his presence or goodwill message during the launch event.

MUCABI said his endorsement would provide encouragement and inspiration to young participants who aspire to contribute positively to Nigeria’s democratic development.

“We want young Nigerians to see politics not as a battleground, but as a platform for service, peacebuilding, and nation-building,” the Executive Director of MUCABI, Nicodemus Samson Beska stated. “Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori’s leadership journey reflects the values of integrity, accountability, and public service that this programme seeks to promote.”

Next Steps:The organisation stated that detailed programme plans, including implementation strategy, budget, and security arrangements, will be shared with Alhaji Dalori’s office for review and approval.

Applications for the first cohort of participants are expected to open shortly after the official launch.
