The immediate past Secretary of Quan’an Pan Local Government Council, Hon. Joseph Dashe, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Mikang, Shendam, and Quan’an Pan Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, as he received strong endorsements during a grassroots consultation tour of eleven Federal Wards in Shendam Local Government Area.
Dashe made the declaration while engaging party stakeholders, Community Leaders, youths, and women groups under the platform of the “Joe Youth Unity Mandate 2027,” as part of his ongoing mobilisation across the constituency.
The wards visited include Kalong, Shimankar, Moekat, Kurungbou B, Derteng, Yelwa, Kurungbou A, Pangshiom, Poeship, Shendam B, and Shendam A.
Speaking during the engagements, Dashe pledged to leave lasting legacies if elected to the House of Representatives, stressing that his aspiration is driven by a commitment to purposeful representation, youth empowerment, and inclusive development.
He assured constituents of his plans to prioritise women and youth empowerment through sustainable business support programmes aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic growth.
He also promised to establish a functional constituency office in Shendam and introduce regular town hall meetings to ensure direct engagement with constituents and effective representation.
According to him, the consultation tour is part of a broader grassroots mobilisation strategy aimed at strengthening unity and consolidating support across the three Local Government Areas of the constituency.
A major highlight of the tour was the endorsement Dashe received from ward stakeholders and Community leaders, who described his aspiration as credible and people-oriented.
The Director General of the Joseph Dashe Campaign Council and former Majority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Henry Yunkwap, described Dashe as a seasoned administrator with vast experience in public service, including roles in the Plateau State Local Government Service Commission, Secretary General of the Plateau Youth Council, and three-term Council Secretary of Quan’an Pan LGC.
Ward Chairmen across the Communities also commended the “Joe Youth Unity Mandate 2027,” describing it as a serious and people-focused movement.
In line with tradition, the Campaign team paid homage to District Heads in all the wards visited, where they received royal blessings and prayers for success in the political journey ahead.
The consultation tour is expected to continue in Mikang and Quan’an Pan Local Government Areas in the coming days.
