The Plateau North Unity Forum has endorsed Professor Danladi Abok Atu for the Plateau North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, describing him as “a symbol of hope, a vessel of transformation, and a beacon of inclusive leadership.”

Speaking during a press briefing in Jos, the Forum’s representative, Da Timothy Choji Kim, said the decision was “not borne out of sentiment but grounded in careful evaluation, proven competence, and an unwavering belief in his capacity to deliver purposeful representation.”

“Today, we gather not merely to make a political statement, but to reaffirm a vision—one rooted in shared humanity, collective progress, and a future defined by cooperation rather than division.” Kim noted.

He explained that the Forum comprises “diverse persons across the different ethnic nationalities in all the six local government areas of the Plateau North Senatorial Zone.”

“After careful scrutiny of the representation, the Forum is of the view that the zone has been grossly underrepresented and has consequently experienced meagre progress and underdevelopment,” he stated.

“Such underdevelopment mostly stems from a lack of unity among the different nationalities within the zone. Indeed, other fault lines that impede the unity of our people include religion and cultural differences.”

“The effect of these fault lines on the progress and development of the zone necessitated the coming together of all and sundry within the entire zone to form the Plateau North Unity Forum.”

Kim said one cardinal objective of the Forum is to “X-ray the possibility of a new dawn among our people that will culminate in having representation in the Red Chamber that will be guided by the enhancement of unity within the zone.”

“This, we believe, if achieved, will ensure that the hitherto elusive progress and development in the zone become a thing of the past.”

Recalled, Prof. Danladi Abok Atu is the immediate past Secretary to the Government of Plateau State and a former chairman of Jos North local government council.
