The attention of the Wase Emirate Council has been drawn to reports circulating on social media alleging the endorsement of former Governor, Senator Simon Lalong, for the 2027 senatorial election.

The Council finds the report disturbing, considering the fact that the Royal Father is a father to all and extends royal blessings to every individual who visits the palace, irrespective of political affiliation.

Such a gesture by the Royal Father should not be misconstrued as a political endorsement, as the Royal Father is neither a politician nor a card-carrying member of any political party.

The Council therefore wishes to distance itself and the Royal Father from the purported endorsement of any particular candidate.

The Council believes that such reports have the tendency to create unnecessary animosity among the peace-loving people of Plateau State, especially at a time when the state is gradually overcoming security challenges experienced in the recent past.

The Wase Emirate Council further advises politicians and their supporters to conduct their political activities with decorum and responsibility in the overall interest of peace, unity, and development of Plateau State.
