Candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon. David Dama has vehemently condemned persistent attacks meted against innocent citizens of Plateau State by the terrorists.

In a statement issued to Acenews on Wednesday in Jos by H.D. Langs, director of communication David Dama campaign Organization, described the killings as barbaric aimed at land-grabbing attempt which it has failed and will continue to fail woefully.

"I, Hon. David Dama, condemn in its entirety the orgy of violent and barbaric attacks currently being unleashed on our villages.

"Plateau people are renowned as peaceful and hospitable - a people who always seek to live in harmony with others, especially strangers. Our accommodating nature does not deserve to be repaid with gruesome killings and the annihilation of our communities.

"We are being stretched to our very limits by this renewed violence, which is clear proof that the enemies of Plateau will not relent until they exterminate us and take over our ancestral lands. By the special grace of God, they will never succeed, and our spirit will never be broken. Plateau must irrespective of our differences rise as one in defence of our God-given heritage.

"I call on all perpetrators of this violence to have a rethink and sheath their swords. The era of land conquest through violence is long gone. I condemn the killing of innocent people under any guise. No one can sleep with both eyes closed on a land acquired through bloodshed in the 21st century. Land grabbing has now been criminalised and remains a punishable offence under the law.

"I extend my deepest sympathies to the immediate families of those affected, the attacked communities, the Government, and the entire Plateau family, for we all share in the pain being inflicted upon us. May we be comforted and strengthened in these perilous times.

"I also commend the gallantry of our security personnel and the bravery of our youths who continue to put their lives on the line in defence of our land. I equally salute the fatherly role being played by His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, in his efforts to bring this situation to an end.

"The Lord is your strength, and Plateau State shall enjoy enduring peace by the special grace of God.
