Governor Simon Bako Lalong has promised to recue the north from the shackles of insecurity and crises just like he has rescued Plateau State from incessant crises in the last four years.
Lalong made this known in his remarks during an interdenominational service was held at the government house chapel Rayfield as part of the inaugural programmes for the 29th May Inauguration of HE Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong's second term in office.
The governor, who promised the congregation that he will do all he can within available time and resources to do better for the greater good of Plateau state and Nigeria; also admonished all Plateau citizens to pray for him, his deputy and his cabinet for the peace, unity and progress of the state.
The service had its opening prayer by Rev Dr Yakubu Pam, CAN Chairman Northern Nigeria where he asked the congregation to pray for the spirit of forgiveness that Nigerians will have the spirit to forgive politicians..
He prayed for plateau to know peace because plateau is known for its peace.
The governor and his deputy together with their families were prayed for by Apostle Chris Bature for God to grant them favour and wisdom from the national level for the prosperity of the state.
Rev Fr David Ajang gave the sermon which centered on second chances and opportunities, saying everything according to God is not by chance but destiny.
He hinted that the governor was the chairman of speakers in Nigeria when he was a speaker and now, the chairman of governors in the north is an act of destiny which God has given him another opportunity to serve the people of plateau state.
He urged him to center on achievable projects that will be completed within the remaining tenure.
The Clergy also advised the governor not to lose focus and not to allow anyone distract him; but rather, work with people who have the same mission and vision as his for the state.
There were goodwill messages from the Plateau State APC Chairman, Hon. Later Danang, the Chief Judge of Plateau State, Justice Yakubu Gyang Dakwak and the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joshua Madaki.
In attendance are his commissioners, permanent secretaries,OPSH Commandant and other top government officials.
