Yusuf Gagdi Babayo emerged victorious after a tough political battle that shows the preference of the majority people of PKK choosing the path that they felt will help in cementing the bond of unity within and among the many diverse ethnic nations and religion blocks of the constituency.

Rotational democracy gave all people that made up a particular area sense of belonging.  It forster trust and  harmonious relationship with an attendant benefit of fast tracking growth in all spheres of human endeavours. Same with growth in political prospects of a region in the zonal block. As a united block; like PKK in central zone, comes through the position of strength when negotiating for prospective political chances in either Plateau central or the state at large.

It is with such at the background that Gagdi bust through... Coming with the dual advantage of maintaining the rotational policy as well as the capacity and capability to offer a robust and quality representation.

And true to the expectations of many,  he hasn't disappointed so far and is showing a thousand rays of hope and mind pleasing dispositions with just hundred days spend in office.

Within this shortest time on board,  he came up with an innovative idea of what he called a constituency legislative blueprint committee,  with 25 members making up the committee in each of the 3 LGAs of the constituency and a central blueprint committee which will streamline the recommendations of the LG levels committees into one working document.

The committees are saddled with the responsibility of interacting with the people of the constituency to know the specific needs of all the areas of PKK.  This will avail the honorable member the opportunity to offer a bottom to top approach to solving the problems of the constituency.

Within the time under review,  he has demonstrated a great capacity on the floor of the house.  Raising a motion for matter of public importance as regards lopsided appointments by many MDAs which the House of Representative had since constituted an ad-hoc committee to work on the issue.

His shining competence and experience was so obvious that couldn't be hide which made the leadership of the National Assembly to make him a member of many ad-hoc committees before and after the constitution of the house  standing committees.  He is in the information ad-hoc committee as well as among the members that were mandated to find solution to the Edo state house of Assembly leadership debacle. When the house standing committees were constituted he was found worthy to be the chairman of the house committee on Navy and a member in Aviation,  Capital market,  Defence,  Rural development,  Army and 6 others,  even as a first timer!

When he decided to appoint his aides,  he did so in style.  Placing hope on the youths more; considering the deficit in inclusive of such demographic into governance, serving as a means of teaching them the rope of governance in one hand and empowering the critical foundation of a progressive society.  He appointed 25 aides, with18 youths taking the slots and 7 elders to guide them.  A right mixed,  a perfect blend.  20 of such aides will be paid from his personal salaries!!

Upon getting victory at the election petition tribunal,  instead of the usual practice of jubilation laced with mockery of political opponents,  he rather calls for the dissolution of political party divides laying emphasis on a united,  non partisan PKK.  There is no victory or vanquished.... He opined.

He demonstrated such commitment when he secured employment for over 60 constituents of PKK across all the LGAs and across political parties.  It is uncommon and unprecedented judging from the fact that all such great feats were accomplished within 100 days!

Indeed there is a supersonic light in the tunnel of PKK not even till the end is reach, Hon Gagdi will surpass all expected benchmark of representation already established in the state.  The pointers are clear for all to see.

As the Hausa man said,  "Juma'a mai kyau,  daga laraba a ke gane ta" if such tremendous performance can be achieved in 100 days,  how then will it be after 4 years?

The people are his priorities and has made that clear in both words and actions throughout his personal and public life, thus,  the reason why people centered representation forming the core of his legislative agenda.  Progressive politics devoid of sentimental biases are his driving force as it is only that,  that can bring bring all facets of development into the lives of the people and the community.

Surely,  the future hold a lot of promises!!!
