Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon Simon Lalong commends President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies particularly the Department of Security Services (DSS) for the release of the five kidnapped aid workers from the jaws of the dreaded Boko Haram Insurgents.

Of the recently kidnapped workers is Jennifer Ukambong Samuel a nurse from Plateau State, whom after her kidnapped, Governor Lalong assured members of her family that the state government will work with necessary agencies to secure her release when he sent a delegation to them led by the Commissioner of Budget and Planning, Mr. Sylvester Wallangko.

In a statement made available to newsmen by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to Governor Lalong, Dr. Macham Makut, the governor says he is excited with the release of the aid workers and thanks Mr. President for his unflinching support and the security agencies for their tireless efforts in ensuring the release of all those in captivity, while the terrorists and other criminals are being fished out and dealt with.

The Governor added that efforts to rescue other citizens of Plateau State still under Boko Haram captivity are ongoing and asked the family and people of Plateau State to continue to pray and support the Government and security agencies with useful information that will assist in their quick release.

He also says more security measures are being taken to tackle incidences of criminality and forstall attacks on innocent citizens.
