Considering the danger connected with the novel Coronavirus pandemic across the globe, Kanam Local Government Area has remained resolutely determined on the control and preventive measures for the Coronavirus.

In the light of the foregoing, the Response Team on Coronavirus, Kanam Local Government Area has been walking round the clock sensitizing the general public as well as enforcing the strict compliance of government directives towards preventing and containing the possible spread of the virus.

Consequently, the Committee yesterday night arrested 3 Commercial vehicles (Sharons)  coming into Dengi Headquarter of Kanam Local Government Area from Niger and Bauchi States, screened them and ensured they were inter the Local Government. The Committee, led by Kanam  Local Government Deputy Chairman, Hon. Yahuza M. Maikano saw them off to the boarder between Kanam and Bauchi State. The vehicles were handed over to the Security Agencies in the Council, The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Health Workers to Quarantine and investigate them.

It would be recalled that Niger and Bauchi has of recent recorded cases of the Covid-19 pandemic and so, they were screened and asked to isolate themselves in order to avoid any tendency where the Covid-19 pandemic would be transmitted to Kanam Local Government Area.

The Council Deputy Chairman further reiterated the commitment of the administration of Hon. Wokdung Adamu Abbas in the fight against Covid-19 and other health related challenges while calling on the general public to cooperate with the Response Team.
