Unknown gunmen invaded Foron Community of Barkin-Ladi Local Goverment Area of Plateau State at about 8:38 pm, macheted and shot death a traditional ruler, HRH Da Bulus Chuwang Jang leaving the community in fears.


The traditional ruler who sustained various degree of injuries as a result of the attack was rushed to Plateau Specialist Hospital Jos, but was confirmed dead.


The Late Da Bulus Chuwang Jang until his death was the acting Gwom Rwei Foron District as a result of the death of the district head recently.


An eyewitness account said, the attackers stormed the community and hided inside Maize farm but got the opportunity to attack the traditional ruler at exactly 8:38p.m when he went out on a phone call while searching for good network.


The Management Committee Chairman of Barkin-Ladi LGC, Hon. Jock Alamba was at the Palace of the acting Gwom Rwei early morning today described the incident as unfortunate. 



"It's very unfortunate that this incident occured barely few days after I assume office. It's indeed worrisome that this happened at a time the Local Goverment Area is already enjoying the relative peace"- He said.


Hon. Jock condoled with the family of the Late Da Bulus Chuwang Jang and the people of Foron over the death. He further said, the death of the traditional ruler is a great lost to the entire people of Barkin-Ladi and Plateau State.


The Chairman assured the people that, his administration will work in collaboration with the security agencies in other to fish out the perpetrators of the dastard act and bring them to justice. 


The Chairman was in company of Sector 4 commander, DSS, D.P.O Barkin-Ladi, Men and officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps who were at the scene to assess the situation.
