The Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), formerly Church of Christ in Nigeria, is a Christian denomination in Nigeria founded in 1904 which believes in the infallibility of the Bible. The church headquarters is in Jos, Plateau State and the Present President is Rev. Dr. Dachollom Datiri. It used to have the name of Ekklesiyar Kristi A Nigeria.


COCIN is a member of the World Council of Churches. Furthermore, it is a member of the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Reformed Ecumenical Council and the World Alliance of Reformed Churches. The Church has been in the fore front of providing basic services to the people of Nigeria. These include education, health and agriculture. Its cluster of schools in Gindiri, Plateau state provided educational opportunities for many Nigerians of note during and after the colonial periods. These schools include the Famous Boys Secondary School, Girls High School, Gindiri Teachers College (Now COCIN Comprehensive College) and The School for the Blind. On the same compound it has a Theological College giving quality theological education up to the first degree level. It had a school of nursing in Vom, but the Nigerian Federal Government took it over.

Today, Saturday 17th-October, 2020, the Church of Christ in Nations at Foron made a remarkable history by celebrating the church establishment since 1904 as well as remembering it's pioneer members/converts who first embrace the gospel of Christ through the church.

The event which took place at COCIN RCC Foron had Clergies and members who turned out to celebrate the church and the fallen heros of Christ.

In attendance was prominent personalities, Clergies, Members of COCIN, sons and Daughters of Foron including the commissioner for Science and Technology who doubles as a representative of Government of Plateau State and the son of the soil (Foron), Hon. Gyang Dung Musa. 

Hon. Gyang Dung Musa in his address, applauded the church for it's thoughtfulness to remember it's pioneer members who came, sure and conquered. Saying their role in planting COCIN in Berom land cannot be overemphasized.

The commissioner noted that, due to the importance he has attached to the event, he had to prioritize his schedules for the day to ensure he personally attended the service in honor of the fallen heros of Christ. He prayed God to rest the souls of our fathers in perfect peace.

The families who gave their lives to as first converts & accepted Jesus Christ to as their personal Lord & savior against all odds when at a it was perceived as a crime to accept another religion in Berom land. These families includes, Ngwo Tiri Sham who was the first Female convert in Berom land, follow by the family of Da Dusu Gyang, Da Yakubu Pam Deme, Da Hwere Doh, Da Kpam Gyang Rak, Da Kpam Dusu Gari, Da Bot Dung & His wife, Ngwo Vou Bot Dung. Da Toma Tok Bot became the first Pastor in Foron & Berom Land. RCC Chairmen & Pastors who made history in the RCC were also honored.
