Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State have graciously renamed the renowned Farin-Gada Tomato Market after Governor Simon Lalong.

This medium came across such development following the commissioning of concrete paving and cold room at the Farin-Gada market by management committee chairman of Jos North LGA, Hon. Shehu Bala Usman.

According to a press statement signed by Philip Eplong, senior information officer to the chairman said the Local Administration in Jos North  has renamed the Farin Gada Tomato Market as "Lalong Tomato Market". 

Management e Committee Chairman of the Local Government Shehu Bala Usman who announced this while commissioning the  concrete paving and cold room at the market in Farin Gada,  Jos said  renaming the market in the name of  Governor Simon  Lalong became necessary due  to his contributions in the sustenance of peace and peaceful co-existence among   the citizens of  the state.

The concrete paving of Lalong tomato market at farin gada and alongside the cold room were  awarded by the Local Government to Handmade Nigeria Limited in January Twenty Twenty by Jos North Local Government with a view to create a  conducive business atmosphere for citizens.

Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Shehu Bala Usman said their choice as a Council to rename the farin gada tomato  market as  " Lalong tomato market" is  because that is  where people from all walks of life come together  for business which signifies  the peace and togetherness Governor Lalong preaches.

He said he feels fulfilled that Governor Lalong is working tirelessly to improve the living condition of the citizenry in the Locality noting the council's readiness to compliment the Governor's efforts by making life more  meaningful for the inhabitants of the area where peace, security and development of the area would thrive.

The   Chairman called on the traders to reciprocate the Local Government gesture by paying in their rent and taxes into the coffers of the Local Government for the overall development of the area.

The Secretary Plateau State Traders Association Sabo Adamu and his Jos North Local Government courtepart Dan Ibrahim said  Governor Lalong and the Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Shehu Bala Usman have  made them proud by delivering on their promise of producing a conducive business atmosphere for citizens.

On his part the Chairman "Lalong Farin Gada Tomato Market" Nasiru Sani and the Market Women Leader Paulina Bulus appreciated the APC led administration for responding to their concern and pledged their Commitment to ensure proper maintenance of the market.
