Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State

In a quest for more peace and security to ascertain development, Governor Simon Lalong stated that his administration is "desire to pursue restorative justice"  for the betterment of all on the Plateau.

He said it is high time people should stop shielding criminals who hide under religion and perpetrate all manner of evil.

"We should fish out  criminals among us. I will not allow religious crisis on the Plateau. Citizens will learn to listen to one another"!

Governor Lalong who made the remarks on Monday in Government House Little Rayfield during the inauguration of Interfaith dialogue committee, acknowledged that " religion should unite us not divide us".

Our correspondent learned that the 36 interfaith dialogue committee members cutting across Christians and Muslims Cleric is to be champion by the former COCIN President, Prof. Pandang Yaksat as Co-chairman and assisted by HRH Dr. Haruna Sambo, Emir of Wase and chairman Jama'atu Nasiru Islam, JNI, Plateau State.

Lalong said he is confident they knows solution to all the crisis as they were been choosing to serve in the committee based on their track record of integrity.

He also revealed that the committee will work closely with Plateau Peace Building Agency,PPBA, to come out with a workable document that would foster peace and development on the Plateau.

Accepting the responsibility, former COCIN President and Co-chairman of Interfaith dialogue committee, Prof. Pandang Yaksat affirmed that" by the grace and power of God we will carry out our responsibility to the satisfaction of Plateau people.

He applauded Governor Lalong for conceiving the idea of constituting the committee.

Noting "your cabinet and security agents should bring Perpetrators of violence to book in order for people to enjoy dividends of democracy they are desiring for.

"We must create and make value system for people to key into it as a lifestyle", Prof. Yaksat concluded.

You would recall since the year 2000, about 20 years now Plateau State have witnessed outbreak of violence of different sheets.
