Group operating under the aegis of Plateau  Liberation Movement (PLM) on Monday said the South-East should be allowed to produce the  President of the country in 2023 to sustain the indivisibility of the nation.




The group further said the South East has capable personalities like  Hon  Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba who is the current Minister of State for Education of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


" He has what it takes to move the country forward and as a group, we would support him if he seeks to contest the number one seat ".

 

Spokesman of the group Hon Nanchit Datiri ,  made the call in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos.



The group extolled Nwajiuba's Sterling qualities, describing him as a man that excels in every position that he holds.


They added that Nwajiuba has carved a good image for himself as a successful Minster who believed in selfless service to humanity.





The group noted that even though  Nwajiuba has not yet declared intent to vie for the exalted office, but he must be dragged into it.” 




They added that the need for the Igbo presidency aligned with the federal character principle as entrenched in the 1999 Constitution as amended.


The group also appealed to Nwajiuba to make himself available to contest the presidency come 2023.



They also stressed that putting into perspective the good works the Minster is doing in the education sector he is ably qualified to provide quality leadership for the country if given the opportunity.


The group further added that Nwajiuba is a performer and at 24 years old, he had constructed a school for the Nsu community in Imo State.



They added that  Honourable Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba came to the limelight in 1999 when he won the House of Representatives in the Okigwe zone of  Imo State. 


 "He has done a lot for his people, Nwajiuba was made Chairman Of  Works and Housing  and in  2003 he contested for Imo   State gubernatorial election, he won  the primary election under  the then All Nigeria Peoples Party 

ANPP.


The group further added that Nwajiuba has done a lot for his people 


" Before Nwajiuba came into politics he had done a lot of good projects in Imo State.



 He singles handily built Mount Olive Seminary school for Okigwe South Diocese Anglican communion. 


He has empowered so many students in the Okigwe zone.
