Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has restated his administration’s unwavering resolve to reform existing laws and strengthen the state’s legal framework in close collaboration with the Office of the State Attorney General. 

He said these reforms would not only enhance governance, but also open new frontiers in tourism, economic growth, security, and the advancement of the state’s mineral resources to complement, the efforts of the Federal Government.

Governor Mutfwang stated this while declaring open a three-day capacity-building workshop for members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, holding at the Miango Rest Home in Bassa Local Government Area.
The workshop, with the theme “Improving Service Delivery through Effective and Complementary Legislative Interventions,” is aimed at equipping lawmakers with the skills, insights, and technical expertise required for more impactful and people-oriented legislative work. 

The Governor stressed the importance of continuous training and retraining of lawmakers to keep them abreast with modern legislative practices and to strengthen their capacity for effective service delivery.

He commended the cordial and productive working relationship between his administration and the 10th Assembly, noting that such synergy is key to delivering tangible benefits for the people of Plateau State. 

Mutfwang urged lawmakers to look the workshop as a golden opportunity to sharpen their legislative skills, broaden their perspectives, and embrace innovative approaches to governance.
In his remarks, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel Gapyil, thanked the Governor for his sustained support and partnership with the legislature. He assured that the House is prepared to work with the Executive in all areas requiring legislative input, emphasising that such collaboration will help uphold the Governor’s vision and genuine intentions in serving Plateau.

The Speaker, while welcoming members to the capacity-building session, described it as a moment to interact, share ideas, and address both the opportunities and challenges before them. Naanlong called on the lawmakers to  listen keenly, expand their knowledge, and translate the insights gained into improved legislative output that will positively shape the House’s work.
Former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwamkwon, in his goodwill message, applauded the initiative and reminded the lawmakers that they are vital partners in the advancement and development of Plateau State. 

Mwadkon implored them to sustain the spirit of cooperation with the executive for the overall good of the people.
