Kwande, the headquarters of Kwo Chiefdom in Quaan Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria was on Friday 29th October,2021 thrown into a festive mood when the Long Kwo, His Royal Highness, Miskoom Fidelis Longtoe Attahiru I honoured some Illustrious sons and daughters for their immense contributions to the development of the area.


Earlier on Friday, Longkwo of Kwo Chiefdom, His Royal Highness, Miskoom Fidelis Longtoe Attahiru conferred the traditional title of ‘Kurnajam on the Director General of the ITF.


Sir Joseph Ari was turbaned alongside 47 other kinsmen including Dr Benedict Baamshal Mairiga, who is now the Kurgwe Long Kwo. 


The ceremony was witnessed by families, top Government officials and well wishers.


Those honoured includes Miskoom Joseph Ari, Kurnajam ( Defense Minister of Kwo land), Miskoom Godfrey Bawa, Dua'am Yil Kwo (Jagaba);Miskoom Henry Lankwap Shinbu'u(Dal'hatu),Miskoom Sebastian Seddi Maimako, Long A'an ( Dan masani) Miskoom Fabian Ntung,  Gwa'at Long Kwo ( Garkuwa); Miskoom Paschal Mammo, Longshep Yil Kwo; Miskoom Hamidu Garba Sharubutu, Longmar  ( Sarkin Noma) and Nna Elizabeth Wapmuk, Mialap Yil Kwo ( Zinariya) among a host of many other prominent sons and daughters of the soil.


Speaking at the occasion, Miskoom Attahiru I reminded the people that the appointments of palace chiefs and heads of other sub national groups within the chiefdom is the prerogative of the Long Kwo, adding that all appointments were in line with culture and tradition of the Chiefdom.


Miskoom Attahiru I in justifying the conferment of Honorary titles to some illustrious children of the land, said that while the struggle to have a chief lingered on for 33 years, these awardees stood firm, assisted people and brought development to Kwo land.

The ceremony was climaxed with several dance groups within and outside the Chiefdom, thrilling their hosts and guests.
