The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,  Plateau State, Hon.Sylvanus Tapgun said the ministry is always ready to collaborate with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in bringing governance at the door step of the masses.

Tapgun revealed that as a ministry saddle with the responsibility of providing dividends of democracy at the grassroot level the task will not be accomplished without Journalists.

The Commissioner stated this on Tuesday in his office alongside other principal officers of the ministry when played host to NUJ National Auditor, Miss Ladi Emmanuel, with her team in Jos the state capital.

Tapgun who is optimistic with Ladi Emmanuel victory at the National level of NUJ, said her emergence will open more vista for Plateau Journalists to always participate politicking at the national level.

He applauded members of the forth estate of the realm for positive reportage of Rescue administration activities under Governor Simon Lalong on the Plateau, adding that as a ministry their doors is always open for contributions to enable them leverage in and deliver on their mandate.

Earlier, the National Auditor of NUJ, Miss Ladi Emmanuel acknowledged that the essence of the courtesy visit was to seek for synergy and partnership with the ministry.

Ladi gave Tapgun and his  management team a passed mark for running inclusive leadership, most especially in handling Local Governments matters and traditional stools in the state and encourage them to do more.

She said " we are working round the clock to trash out quacks who are parading themselves as Journalists but in a real sense they don't have any journalism background.

"Both the National and states Union of NUJ is working assiduously towards achieving that aim.

" As Plateau representative at the national level I will discharge my duties with all sense of modesty to justify the confidence reposed on me", she mentioned.
