Langtang North mini Stadium, the venue of the 2022 Illum O'Tarok, annual cultural festival of the Tarok nation over the weekend stood still as the Honourable Member representing Langtang North and Langtang South Federal Constituency, Hon. Beni Butmak Lar arrived the venue of the cultural festival.
The lawmaker who arrived the venue of the event in a grand-style as the jubilant crowd chanting and singing in Tarok dialect appreciating the lawmaker for the numerous empowerment programmes initiated for her constituents.
Hon. Beni Lar who was a Distinguished Guest at the Illum O’Tarok was accompanied to the podium by the Executive Chairman, Langtang North LGC, Hon. Joshua Ubandoma Laven and retired AVM Napoleon Bali, a PDP Senatorial aspirant for Plateau South Senatorial zone in the 2023 general elections.
Addressing the jubilant crowd, Honourable Lar advocated for unity and the need for peaceful coexistence among Tarok sons and daughters cautioning against allowing political ideologies to divide them.
On the need to promote educational advancement of the people, the lawmaker described education as the bedrock for the future of any society adding that as a lawyer and Parliamentain she is a product of education, she was desirous of ensuring the educational development of her constituents.
As a way of demonstrating her commitment to promoting the educational advancement of Tarok youths, the lawmaker donated the sum of 10 million naira and another N2.5 million naira on behalf of herself, Laven and retired AVM Bali to Ngwang Ishi O'Tarok (NIO) to set-up a Scholarship Trust Fund to assist indigent students in their academic pursuit.
She however, assured the people of her resolve to ensure the establishment of a Federal institution in the constituency to carter for the educational needs of the youths and the surrounding localities.
Honourable Lar also used the event to call on Governor Simon Lalong to restore the mandate of the Langtang North LGC in the interest of the people who overwhelmingly gave Hon. Laven the mandate as the duly elected Council Chairman of Langtang North.
