One of the problem currently bedeviling Nigeria is drastic reduction in the quality of representation, especially in the Plateau State. And since the National Assembly is a place where a lot of things happen, any constituency or senatorial district that wants rapid socio-economic development must consciously elect sound, knowledgeable persons who are well connected to the National Assembly.

It is high time party leaders desist from skewing the electoral process in favour of moneybags against those with requisite capacity.

Max Depree, an American businessman and writer was quoted saying, "the first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant".

It is also against this background that Langtang North/South Federal Constituency, which is arguably one of the constituency that is grossly under-represented and under developed must change the narratives by ensuring only credible and people -oriented persons come 2023 make it to the National Assembly.

One of such credible persons is Hon. Yaknan Samuel Yarnap, an illustrious son of Tarok land who seeks to serve his people in the green chamber of the National Assembly as member representing Langtang North/ South Federal Constituency.

Born in the 70’s to the family of Late Evangelist S.D.D Audu Longkap of Nahuta Sabon Gida Ward Langtang South LGA, Yaknan Samuel Yarnap is very intelligent endearingly dynamic, resourceful, focused, self-motivated and public-spirited Nigerian with an unquenchable drive for excellence and an enormous ability to generate and incubate great ideas.

He is a man with groundbreaking accomplishments who has become a role model and inspiration to the younger generation.

Yaknan Samuel Yarnap is no doubt a bastion of hope and aspiration to the next generation of Nigerian leaders. He is a graduate and a Master degree holder in Project Management from Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford United Kingdom. He is Married with Children.

According to him,  he's running for the House of Representatives to enable him use the platform to unite Taroh people and influence meaningful development. This he intends to achieve by leveraging on his vast network, both national and international because of the need for assertive idealism and practical sense of purpose in the matter of the people’s’ well-being and to ensure that the socio-economic gains of democracy get to the people.

Running under the platform of Young Progressives Party, commonly known as the YPP, his choice of the political is because it was specifically created to challenge the two major contemporary parties in Nigeria, namely the People's Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress. In fact, YPP's manifesto calls for concerted efforts to improve welfare, fight for social justice and provide equality of opportunities for all citizens in Nigeria.

The young philanthropist also opined that there is need to create a new outlook and new standards for democracy as well as the need for the rectification of the anomalies in our democratic experience and to remedy the obvious unproductive disconnect.
