Director general of Plateau State Contributory Healthcare management Agency (PLASCHEMA), Dr. Fabong Jemchang said the agency cannot effectively actualize it's statutory responsibility of universal healthcare coverage without the media support.

Jemchang made the disclosure when he played host to the national internal auditor of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Miss Ladi Emmanuel and her entourage who went for a courtesy visit.

The DG revealed that what the agency does basically is domestic resource mobilization which aim at addressing the health challenges of Plateau citizens and Nigerians.

He said the agency have a sole responsibility of communicating and enlighten the populace about the Government policies and programmes as far as health insurance is concerned hence, media as a critical stakeholder have played a vital role.

While congratulating Miss Ladi Emmanuel over her victory, the PLASCHEMA Boss task her to judiciously make good use of her office to galvanized support for the agency no individual would left behind without reaping the benefits of health insurance in Plateau.

Earlier, the NUJ national internal auditor, Ladi Emmanuel opines that that the purpose of the visit was to thank the agency for their prayers and support when she traveled through the length and breadth of Nigeria canvassing for votes that saw her emerged victorious.

Emmanuel vowed to always seek for areas of collaboration and partnership with PLASCHEMA, Local Governments, traditional class and other government and non governmental agencies.

She applauded the DG and management staff of PLASCHEMA for uplifting the agency to a greater height as she charged them to do more!

Our correspondent gathered that over forty thousand (40,000) beneficiaries were enrolled into Plateau State Contributory Healthcare management Agency since the inception of the agency in 2019.
