Pilgrims from Plateau state have arrived Jordan for a 9-day pilgrimage to historical sites of the teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible.

The Information Officer, Plateau state Christian Pilgrims Board, Mrs Janet Jinawa said this in a statement issued to journalists in Jos on Tuesday.

Jinawa said the pilgrims who were sponsored to the Holy Land by the government of Plateau state said the pilgrims would visit historic sites in the country.

The Executive Secretary, Plateau state Christian Pilgrims Board, Rev. Fr. George Gorap, in the statement charged the pilgrims to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the process.

Gorap disclosed that 420 Plateau citizens were expected to take part in the pilgrimage which he said would be in 3 batches.

He encouraged the pilgrims to see the pilgrimage as an opportunity to turn closer to God and be transformed.

Chairman of the Board, Rev. Shikti’un Koppah, in the statement said that pilgrimage was very vital in the life of a believer.

Koppah disclosed that the pilgrims would visit holy sites in Jordan and Israel respectively.

The Executive Secretary, National Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) Rev. Yakubu Pam, while bidding the pilgrims farewell urged them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and see the holy visit as a time for prayers.
