Hon.Josephine Piyo, Deputy Governor Plateau state

Plateau State Deputy Governor, Hon. Josephine Piyo, has congratulated Mrs Ayuku Pwaspo on her emergence as the first female chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Plateau State. 

In a congratulatory letter, Piyo also congratulated other  officials that were elected alongside Ayuku Pwaspo.

The deputy governor who was excited by the outcome of the election and being the first-ever female chairman of the esteemed profession in the state.

She said that Ayuku victory did not come as a surprise as it was a reward of her record of excellence, consistency and character.

The Deputy Governor stated that with her historic emergence she was confident in her ability to rebuild NUJ in the state and enhance journalism practice to world best standards. 

Piyo called for Women’s equal participation and leadership in political, public and professional life as they  are essential in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and growth in the state. 

She assured the new chairman of her complete support and continued friendship with the media and female journalists in the State. 

While expressing how proud she is of the new chairman, she prayed for God’s guidance and make her new leadership role a huge success.
