A group under the aegis of Plateau PDP youth Wing, has rejected the nullification of four National Assembly seats by the three man panel of the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, led by Hon.Justice Bello Mohammed Tukur and two other Justices.

You recalled, the Tribunal sitting in High Court Jos had nullified the elections of AVM Napoleon Bali (rtd), Senator representing Plateau Southern senatorial district, Hon.Beni Lar, the member representing Langtang North and South Federal Constituency, Hon.Peter Gyendeng member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency as well as Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency.

In its decision, the court claimed that PDP doesn't have a valid structure as of 25th February, 2023, general elections to enable them sponsor a candidate to stand for election.

A press statement issued to newsmen Wednesday in Jos the state capital by the chairman and secretary of Plateau PDP youth wing, Joel Jelani and Douglas Raphael says, they have rejected the verdict of the  election petition tribunal over the issue of structure that the party doesn't have  valid exco to nominate and sponsor a candidate.

"The tribunal struck out the various petitions filed by the PDP and its candidate, in Plateau Southern Senatorial District ,Plateau North on ground 1 of lack of structure which is a biased judgment tantamount to plunge the state into anarchy on a peaceful election held on the  February 25th.

"In a unanimous decision, the three man panel of  justices led by Bello Mohammed Tukur , held that PDP failed to comply with order of court.

"The tribunal also ruled that all votes cast for PDP are wasted votes  and went ahead to  disqualified PDP  from contesting the election on account of  frivolous allegations of nomination and sponsorship.

The party youth wings  “unequivocally” rejects the judgment in “its entirety” by calling on the judicial counsel to beam it searchlight on Plateau State Election tribunal and correct the abnormalities ravaging the petitions.

“The judgement is against reason, against the facts and evidence presented in court, against the relevant Electoral Laws, Guidelines and Regulations as well as the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended),”  we appeal to  all a sundry to intervene and safe our democracy.

“Indeed, the judgment is generous in technicalities and very short in delivering substantial justice in the matter of Congresses held in Plateau state chapter on the 25th September ,2021  by National Working Committee ,NWC , and monitored by INEC is disappointment.

"We want the world to know that what the Bello Mohammed Tukur panel is planning as youth wings of party we vehemently reject that decision.

"As law abiding citizens we call on the judicial commission to sanction the action of the jurists for their action perverse Justice.

"We appealed to all PDP supporters in Plateau State to remain resolute and go about their legitimate businesses and await the out of the appeal court judgment where we will   reclaim back  our stolen mandate", the statement added.
