The Nigerian government has established the Almajiri and Out of School Children Commission considered to mark a significant stride in addressing the educational challenges faced by vulnerable children in the country especially Northern Nigeria.

The country lead compaigner of 100 Million and #JusticeForAfrica Mr. Al-Amin Gamandi in a chat with Daily Champion Newspaper in Jos, said the commission's commitment to transparency will not only foster trust with the public but also demonstrate a dedication to maximizing impact and support for marginalized children, particularly those who are out of school.

As the #JusticeForAfrica campaign commemorates its one-year anniversary on 20th February, they call for transparency and accountability within the Commission underscores the importance of ensuring that resources are effectively utilized to benefit those in need.
"In a time where Nigeria grapples with escalating levels of hunger and inflation, it is imperative for the commission to extend its reach and support to children in refugee camps. These children are often forgotten and overlooked, and they face additional obstacles in accessing education and basic necessities.

"As the nation navigates through these challenging times, the commission's role in providing education and support to all children, including those in refugee camps, is pivotal to creating a more equitable and hopeful future", he stated.

He said the initiatives undertaken by the Nigerian government through the Almajiri and Out of School Children Commission and the Almajiri Child Rights Initiative indeed shows a commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable children and fostering a more inclusive society.

"The anniversary of the #JusticeForAfrica campaign by 100 Million serves as a timely reminder of the importance of upholding commitments, transparency, accountability, and inclusivity within the commission to ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to quality education and support.

"In light of current hardships, the commission's engagement with children in refugee camps is not just a call to action but a humanitarian imperative that can make a tangible difference in the lives of those most in need." He reiterated

Justice For Africa campaign is a movement of Youth activists, student leaders, survivor-advocates and their representative organisations across the continent coming together and demanding Justice for African children.

It is co-convene by the 100 Million campaign, a youth-led call to action for a world where all young people are free, safe and educated.

"It aims to end violence against children, eradicate child labour, and ensure education, breaking the cycles of illiteracy, poverty and violence for good." Says Gamandi.
