Ati Angai, President Elect BCDA
Ati Ezekiel Ayu Angai is the President-elect of Bace Cultural Development Association (BCDA). Ati Angai was declared winner on Saturday 20th July, 2024 after beating three other contestants in a keenly contested election with 2,146 votes.
Ati Awul, Kabong Joseph, Ati Nuhu Asama and Ati Kucha JeJe Asukutuk scored 1,528, 825, 18 votes respectively to come 2nd, 3rd and 4th in that order.
Others who equally got elected into other offices are; Markus Haruna, Vice President, Danjuma Amadik, Secretary, Ayiki Yakubu Joshua, Assistant Secretary and Dorcas Peter Agibi, Treasurer, Aku Victor Adiwu, Financial Secretary, Odinga Adiwu, PRO, Sunday Akajah, Director of Culture and Hon. Paul Ahoro, Auditor.
In his acceptance speech, the President-Elect, expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in him. He however, stated that he cannot do it alone and stressed his strong believe in unity to bring about positive change and development.
Consequently, he called on all Bace to give the new EXCO the needed support and cooperation to build a better community.
Reassuring the people of purposeful leadership, Ati Angai said, "our doors will be opened for positive suggestions and constructive criticism for rebuilding our cherished Community.
"We are determined to bequeath a more united and prosperous Kice to the next generation, God helping us".
The President-elect further expressed his gratitude to his co-contestants for the exhibition of spirit of sportsmanship and graciousness while promising his magnanimity. "We are in this together and I will tap from your wealth of experience and ideas to better our journey to greatness, as a people", he said.
Ati Ezekiel Ayu Angai is the former Adviser to former Governor Joshua Dariye on Special Duties.
The election which was held across the 7 Districts in Kiche nation and for Bace in diaspora, was free, fair and credible.
According to a member of the Electoral Committee, a date for the inauguration of the BCDA new EXCO will be announced soon.
