I imagine that we are aware that constitutionally, every state of the federation is supposed to have one ministerial slot.

It may not be obtainable always. That is why today, some states are represented by two on the Federal Executive Council.

Currently, there are about 48 of them, excluding Plateau State, which is yet to be represented on the Federal Executive Council.

Since the resignation of Barr Simon Bako Lalong to take his seat in the Senate, the state has been left in the lurch.

Many names have been reportedly mentioned as possible replacement of the erstwhile Minister for Labour and Employment, who was given the Plateau slot in the first instance.

However, one name that stands out is that of Prof Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the last general elections in 2023.

Since no replacement has been made, would it be right to ask: What political sins Plateau State has committed to be 'selected for punishment'?

Except the people of the state are paying for some alleged 'sins' to Nigeria, it is time a son or daughter of Plateau was considered and his or her name is forwarded to the Senate for confirmation?

It is only proper and right, except if there is more to it that we are not aware of in keeping off Plateau for the part of what has being of the Tinubu presidency.

Grapevine stories have made the rounds here, and, it does appear; that there are different versions of some of the reasons Plateau is yet to have its ministerial slot.

Whatever it is, the state is no doubt saturated with capable hands or is it heads, that can hold their own and deliver on the mandate allocated to such an office.

Before yours sincerely is accused of bandying a name, it is common knowledge that political considerations are, for whatever reasons, conjectural and left at the mercy of whoever is giving the final say.

In this case, the President should know that we have long gone the time when just anyone could be made a minister. The indices for sourcing the best hand has become one of the acceptable ways for getting the best for the office.

It is possible the right thing may have been done to get the acceptable person. It is therefore expected that such a name would have been since submitted to the Presidency.

It is however surprising that we are where we are today several months down the line since Bar Simon Bako Lalong put on the prefix of Senator.

Whatever are the landmines placed on the way, Mr President, Plateau State is entitled to be represented on the Federal Executive Council.
