The chairperson, who said that the activity aimed at ensuring a peaceful polls in the locality, provided a veritable platform for the candidates to present their manifestoes to the people.
She said that Barkin-Ladi has had it fair share of conflict violence in recent times, hence the need for the candidates to exchew all forms of bitterness and toe the path of peace.
”We have organised this townhall to provide a platform for the chairmanship candidates to present their manifestoes.
”We are not here to police them, but for them to tell us what they will do if elected.
”Particularly how they intend to foster peace and unity in the locality and bring about Development in our communities.
”We want to also use this medium to call on the candidates to ensure inclusion of women and youths in decision making, if elected.
”On the other hand, we are using this opportunity to also appeal to them to be peaceful as they go about their electioneering campaigns,”she said.
Mohammed who thanked all those that supported the activity, disclosed that the townhall was first of its kind in the annals of the locality.
Aside the candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), candidates of other political parties were represented.
