The Executive chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Barr. John Kyohroh Christopher has advocated improve welfare package for Nigeria Legions.

Christopher said all hands should be on deck to encourage men and officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces that were in active service and retired.

The chairman made the clarion call on Wednesday at the council Secretariat after laying of wreaths alongside other dignitaries which heralded 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.

He Armed Forces are in the battle front to ensure peace and security, noting that we not "allow their services to go in vain."

The council chairman further revealed that Jos North is one of the densely populated local government area in Plateau. He said where there is population security breach always be a major concern.

He acknowledged the patriotism of various security agencies who are making huge sacrifices to enhance peace and security in the local government area.

 

He also promised that his administration is working assiduously to fashion out modalities aimed at engaging the youths with skills acquisition which will go a long way in addressing social vices bedeviling the locality.

Chairman of Nigeria Legion Council, Jos North, Major Garba Itok retired eulogies John Kyohroh Christopher for granting them approval to observed the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration despite late notification.

Itok, confirmed that successive Council's administration failed to accord them the opportunity to witness such memorable occasion, saying the current council leadership demonstrate leadership prowess and prayed for such laudable initiative to continue.

Our correspondent reports that 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration marked second edition in the history of Jos North local government council, as John Kyohroh Christopher on behalf of the council management donated the sum of five hundred thousand Naira (N500, 000.00) to the families of fallen heroes.
