The Vice Chancellor University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya, has reiterates his unwavering commitment and determination towards increasing the enrollment of international students into the institution.

Professor Ishaya, revealed the management are working assiduously in bringing back the lost glory of the institution saying, University of Jos known for international standard in terms of students disposition.

He made the assertion during a welcome special for newly admitted foreign based students, organized by the Students Union Government (SUG) in conjunction with directorates of student affairs, held at the institution's Open Theatre main campus, Jos, Wednesday.

The VC encouraged them to feel at home as they settle for academic pursue.

"Your here for a life changing experience. Take advantage of the opportunity at your disposal to gain knowledge and excel in future.

"By the grace of God University of Jos is hosting Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) this year 2025. Therefore, get ready to showcase your skills and qualities because we're hosting NUGA games to win", the VC noted.

Lending his voice, the Dean student affairs, Dr. Chris Pewuna, urged the students to table their complaints and concerns through directorates of student affairs whenever they encounter challenges.

Meanwhile, the SUG president, Kangyang Jane Pwajok, charged her counterparts to consider themselves as part of the university family, exploring their potentials for academics and culture, noting that the institution is a true reflection of diversity.

She also assured that the institution is committed to providing a world class education, admonished the students to make genuine friends and connections that would last a lifetime.

Some of the students who spoke to Daily Champion includes; Sofiane Ali Toye- Niger, department of economics, Manyikeng Blandine-Cameroun, faculty of Law, and Mangeth Ngor, who held from South Sudan. Said Nigerian experience is awesome as they love the environment, food and culture.

They further narrated that the kind of false impression they were told about Nigeria and Plateau is not obtainable with the reality of what they currently witnessing.
