Chairman of Quaan Pan Local Government Council, Christopher Audu Manship has expressed deep sorrow and indignation over the callous and senseless killings which recently claimed innocent lives in Bokkos and Bassa Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
According to Manship these heinous acts of violence against armless and defenseless Communities is an affront to shared humanity and a setback to the peace and stability Plateau State.
"I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families who lost loved ones, as well as the Government and people of Plateau State. Your grief is our grief; your pain is our pain. In this hour of mourning, we stand united with you in sorrow and solidarity"
The Qua’an Pan Local Council Chairman pledged his unwavering support to the Plateau State Government and security agencies as they pursue those responsible for these atrocities.
He called on citizen across ethnic, religious, and political divide to reject the politics of fear and division and embrace dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation as the only path to lasting peace.
As communities reel from this tragedy, the Chairman urged political, traditional and religious leaders, youth associations, and civil society organizations to redouble efforts in fostering peace, unity, reconciliation and understanding stressing that the healing process begins at the grassroots, through empathy, compassion, and collective action to protect the sanctity of life.
Manship appealed to the Federal Government to accelerate measures that strengthens security, promote justice, and address the underlying causes of conflict, pointing out the only coordinated, transparent, and community-driven initiatives, the cycle of violence will be broken.
He prayed for the memories of those who lost their lives inspire us to recommit to peace as their legacies be the catalyst for unity.
The Chairman also prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed to rest in peace and wish the injured speedy recovery.
