Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel, has joined millions of citizens in felicitating with Nigerians as the country marks its 65th Independence Anniversary.
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Naanlong extended warm greetings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudee Abbas, Principal Officers and Members of the National Assembly, as well as the Chief Justice of the Federation on this auspicious occasion.
The Speaker also rejoiced with the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, his Deputy, Ngo Josephine Piyo, and the good people of Plateau State, describing the anniversary as a historic occasion which symbolizes the unity, progress, and the smooth democratic journey of the nation.
He noted that the Independence Day remains a reminder of the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s founding fathers and called on leaders at all levels to uphold equity, justice, fairness, and accountability in the service of the people.
While commending Nigerians for their resilience and patriotism, the Speaker assured that the Plateau State House of Assembly will continue to enact laws and support initiatives that will foster peace, security, and development stressing that the Assembly is committed to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure Plateau State overcomes the prevailing security challenges and achieves lasting stability.
He expressed optimism that with collective determination and faith in the nation, Nigerians can surmount present challenges and build a future of greater opportunities, where peace and prosperity will be the common heritage of all citizens.
The Speaker who conveyed his greetings to people of Plateau State and his constituents in Mikang on behalf of the principal officers, members and staff of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
Rt. Hon. Naanlong assured that under his leadership, the Assembly will sustain effective collaboration with the Executive and Judiciary in promoting good governance and delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
The Speaker prayed for God’s blessings upon Plateau State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, wishing the nation greater strides in unity, peace, and prosperity.
