Members of the Pankshin Old Boys Association (POBA) Set 1995 from the Plateau Central Zone have declared their support for Chief Hon. Ephraim Usman, urging him to contest for the Plateau Central Senatorial seat in the forthcoming elections.
The call was made when the group hosted Chief Usman at a special interactive session recently held in Jos.
Speaking on behalf of the Set, Julian Mangset said the appeal became necessary considering Chief Usman’s impressive track record in public service, especially his performance as a Commissioner in Plateau State.
He described the Commissioner as a community mobilizer, philanthropist, and kind-hearted leader whose political engagements have earned him admiration across the state.
Mangset noted that “the name of Ephraim Usman continues to resonate in the political arena,” expressing confidence that the people would be satisfied if he is given the opportunity to serve at the Senate.
In his welcome remarks, the Set ’95 Chairman, Alpha Akyok, applauded the unity and foresight of members in creating a platform to support one of their own. He said Chief Usman remains a credible and capable leader with the capacity to deliver quality representation.
According to him, members of the set are filled with joy knowing that one of their own is performing excellently and receiving widespread commendation.
Also speaking, the National President of POBA and member of Set ’95 from the Central Zone, Kenzy Ngupar, urged members to continue supporting one another while upholding the values of integrity and service.
He emphasized that it is the policy of POBA to support any of its members vying for public office, regardless of political affiliation. Ngupar described Chief Usman as “an achiever and a man with a golden heart.”
Other members who gave goodwill messages included Abalis James, Jurbe Gar, Panpe Twa, Tijjani Adamu, and Kumden A. Tongnan all of whom reaffirmed their support.
Responding, Chief Ephraim Usman expressed gratitude to his schoolmates, recalling his early days at Government College Pankshin when he joined the school in JSS1. He said he cherishes the bond he shares with Set ’95 members and remembers their collective struggles and triumphs.
According to him, Government College Pankshin and particularly Set ’95 remains very dear to his heart, promising to always carry them along in his political journey.
Chief Usman used the occasion to urge his colleagues to continue supporting the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, noting that the government is committed to uniting the people, improving infrastructure, and driving sustainable development across the state. He added that Plateau State is fortunate to have a leader working tirelessly to reposition the state.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of campaign fliers, exercise books, and stickers to Chief Usman, produced by a member of Set ’95.
