A former minister of youths and sports development, Solomon Dalung has expressed confidence that the African Democratic Congress (ADC), will form government come 2027 general elections as the party is the credible opposition and alternative in Nigeria.

Dalung who is the leader of ADC in Plateau said is saddened with way and manner the current APC administration led by President Ahmed Tinubu plunged Nigerians into severe hardship.

"APC has lost their sleep since after the national convention", Dalung stated.

He made the assertion while addressing delegates over the weekend at the party's secretariat in Kalwa House, Jos.
Our correspondent reports that delegates across the 17 local governments converge and elected their new state working committee members.

The process was conducted by the National working committee of ADC and supervised by INEC as farmer Dung Daweng Pam emerged Plateau ADC Chairman through consensus alongside 36 other officials of the party.

According to Dalung, "today's congress is making the annals of political landscape in determining the faith and future of ADC in Plateau.

"The language of the Congress is consensus as positions were  equitably distributed across the three zones of the state", he revealed.
The former minister berates INEC interference on ADC despite court pronouncement of maintaining of "status quo", insisted that Senator David Mark remains the National chairman of ADC.

"The role of INEC is supervision, and it has no right to exercise power over ADC. INEC cannot constitute itself as a Police and a judge at the same time", Dalung raised alarm.

He appreciates delegates for conducting themselves maturely, promised that ADC will continue to run open door policy hinge on transparency and accountability for all party members.

Chairman Plateau ADC Congress committee, Hon. AbdulKareem Usman expressed delight with the smooth conduct of the congresses, saying all structures of the party are virtually intact.
"By the powers conferred on me in line with constitution of ADC, I hereby affirmed and declared that all aspirants who emerged through consensus as the leaders of Plateau ADC State working committee", Usman acknowledged.

Meanwhile, the brand new Plateau ADC Chairman, farmer Dung Daweng Pam who spoke on behalf of the elected officials assured they will not betray the confidence reposed to them as the will emerge victorious in 
future elections.

Pam urged party loyalists to focus on mobilising and delivering votes at the polls saying, Governor Caleb Mutfwang will serve one tenure in Plateau.

"With the successful and hitch-free conclusion of the ward, local government, and state congresses, the ADC in Plateau  State has demonstrated unity, organisational strength, and readiness for the political contests ahead", the chairman noted.
