Our attention has been drawn to a statement issued by Rt. Hon. George Daika under the guise of "Concerned Stakeholders of Mikang LGA." We wish to state categorically that Rt. Hon. George Daika neither consulted nor received the mandate of Mikang APC stakeholders to issue such a statement on their behalf.
We therefore ask: Who elected or appointed Rt. Hon. George Daika as the spokesman of Mikang stakeholders or the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mikang Local Government Area? His views remain entirely personal and should not be misconstrued as the collective position of the people of Mikang or the APC family.
For the avoidance of doubt, the APC primary election in Mikang was concluded, and the officially declared results clearly reflected the outcome of the votes cast across the ten wards of the Local Government Area. The results announced by the party showed that Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel polled 3,364 votes, while Hon. Timdi Nkat scored 2,822 votes, giving Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel a clear margin of victory.
These figures remain the official outcome of the exercise and represent the decision freely made by delegates who participated in the party's democratic process.
Accordingly, we respectfully call on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress and the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, to disregard the publication credited to Rt. Hon. George Daika, as it neither represents the position of Mikang APC stakeholders nor reflects the collective opinion of party members in the Local Government Area. His statement should be treated strictly as his personal opinion.
As concerned stakeholders, our priority is not to reopen issues arising from the primary election but to promote unity, reconciliation and the continued progress of Mikang. We believe every party leader has a responsibility to build bridges, strengthen the APC and work towards its success in future elections.
We therefore call on Rt. Hon. George Daika and all party faithful to join hands with Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel and other leaders of the party in the collective interest of Mikang. The people deserve a united APC committed to peace, stability and sustainable development.
Mikang is greater than any individual ambition. This is the time for healing, reconciliation and collective commitment to the growth of the APC and the development of Mikang Local Government Area.
Signed:
Hon. Thompson T. P
