The outgoing 8th Assembly speaker of Plateau state House of Assembly(PLHA) and member representing Jos East constituency,Rt.Hon. Barr.Joshua Madaki said their scorecard during the 8th has been unprecedented as the House were been able to passed thirty-one bills, amended two and has passed countless numbers of motion.

Madaki who was speaking to Journalists shortly after a valedictory session to round up 8th activities acknowledge that among these bills are the Plateau state small and medium Development Agency (PLASMIDA) which has for example already empowered over ten thousand unemployed persons including women and Youths.

"The Plateau Peace Building Agency as you know has now been domesticated in over six other states of the federation and has redirected manner for which cases of insecurity is attended, handled and dealt with within the state. This bill has the special blessing of Mr. President, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.

"The Peace Building Agency has within a short time developed a well formidable mechanism for intervention in to conflicts situation, a prescription away from the countless the countless none implementable white paper approach which has either created suspicious or made people lose a lot of confidence in government's abilities to settle crisis over time.

"The penal code bill, the multi-door court bill, the procurement bill, the contributory healthcare bill, the water sector bill, the Plateau state information and communication technology development agency bill, the criminal justice bill, the Plateau state character commission bill, the traditional medicine bill, the energy sector bill are amongst these major and important bills passed by the 8th Assembly."He revealed.

The speaker further explain only last week, by the untiring support and sacrifice of their members, in two of its sittings, House was able to passed four key bills and have so far to been given assent by the executive Governor Rt.Hon. Simon Bako Lalong.

"It will interest us to know, it is the same gesture of sacrificing to the state by members of the 8th Assembly that House continued to sit and play it's role to the very last minute,marking it as the only House since 2003 precided by then speaker Rt. Hon.Simon Lalong the present Governor in the state to hold a valedictory."

He said aside from the legislative work, members of the 8th had recorded cordial working synergy with the Executive and other arms of government in the state.

"This synergy within the 8th Assembly has in no small amount contributed to the relative peace being experienced in the state. Therefore, we continue to pray an plead for patience and tolerance with one another as exhibited by the maturity of Honourable members.

"Other successes of the 8th Assembly are the use of Brand new 32 seater coaster for the House, renovation of the Assembly entrance, giving the complex a beautiful face-lift, procurement of recording gadgets etc.

"Also within this time two of our staff members were elevated in the person of Barrister Ayuba Gongu as fellow of the National Institute for policy and strategic studies (NIPPS) and Barr. Mrs. Veronica Fandom to the position of judge of the customary Court."

He added that the 8th Assembly being transparent enough opened its doors and for the first time ever provided for a desk officer for the civil liberty organization within the Assembly's complex.

Madaki also expressed that the House under goes series pains following the demise of its two members, the member representing Pengana constituency, Hon.Ezekiel Bauda Afon and member representing Qua'anpan North,lose two spouses of member of Jos South and member of Langtang North respectively.

While appreciating the good working relationship with the executive Governor, Simon Lalong, the outgoing speaker who spent eleven months in office plead for same gesture to be established by the incoming 9th Assembly in the state.
