The Igbo Community Social Welfare Barkin-Ladi, has described the Management Committee Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council, Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau as a detribalised leader working tirelessly to advance the course of unity and peaceful coexistence among the diverse people leaving in Barkin-Ladi. Speaking during a courtesy call on the Chairman on Tuesday at his country home Zarmaganda, the President General of the group, Prince Uche Linus stated that, the IGBO community social welfare has been watching with interest, the quality and action-packed impact of Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau on the political, social and economic recovery, development and growth of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area, particularly in the area of peace and security. He noted that, a lot of positive indicators have taken roots in Barkin-Ladi since Hon. Ezekiel Mandyau took over the mantle of leadership. “Your first ever Christmas carols which trilled the locality with the blessings of the season, evacuation of dirts from strategic locations in Barkin-Ladi town and environs, interlocking and building of a drainage system at the Council Secretariat among other achievements has further strengthen our resolve to identify with you as well as your party the APC. Members of the ICSW are now card carrying members of your party with a view to supporting you now and in the nearest future as you may wish to aspire for a higher position". Prince Uche also prayed the Chairman to look into some of their current request which include: * Seeking plots of land to build ICSW befitting Secretariat. * Appointment/Employment of it's members into public offices. In his remarks, Hon. Barrister Ezekiel Mandyau commended the Igbo Community Social Welfare Barkin-Ladi for the visit and assured the group that their request for participation and readiness to support his administration is highly welcomed and promised to support the ICSW to secure a piece of land for their cooperative activities while calling on other communities to emulate the Igbo Community and cooperate with Government to achieve peace, well-being and progress of our communities.
