Plateau state head of  civil service Izam Azi has ordered civil servants in the state to resume work 15th  -18th June, 2020

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos


The statement reads that "The general public especially civil servants in Plateau State are hereby informed that in line with Government’s recent review of the lockdown measures in the State, the full resumption of daily Civil Service activities has been approved as follows:
i. Cleaners, Gardeners, Clerical Officers, Messengers and other auxiliary staff are to resume on Monday 15th June, 2020 to ensure the offices are tidied up;

ii. Other categories of workers are to resume on Thursday, 18th June, 2020.

Accordingly, all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) should ensure that all its staff adhere to the Covid-19 laid down guidelines and preventive protocols which include: compulsory wearing of facemasks, regular washing of hands with soap or use of alcohol based hand sanitizers and maintaining of social distancing within and around the offices.
Furthermore, to ensure effective enforcement and compliance, MDAs are hereby required to:
i. Provide Hand washing facilities with detergents at the main entrances to their offices;
ii. Make adjustments, where necessary, to ensure that social distancing are observed in offices;
iii. Limit the daily number of visitors to their offices to the barest minimum, all of whom must wear facemasks and comply with other safety and hygiene protocols before they are allowed entry;
Meanwhile, Security Guards at the J.D Gomwalk Secretariat, Jos as well as all other gates leading into Government Offices are hereby instructed NOT to allow persons without facemasks entry into the offices.
Heads of the respective MDAs are to ensure their staff comply to this directive and are to also sanction erring staff, please.
