The chairman electoral committee of Plateau Publishers Association (PPA), Chief Amos Gizo said they anticipate for capable and rancour free leaders that would steer up the ship of the association to a greater height to emerged in their forthcoming elections.

Gizo who is the Chairman Board of Trustees of the association (PPA) and also a publisher of Citywatch Magazine revealed that they have 24 registered members currently.

He hinted this alongside other members of PPA while addressing Journalists at NUJ Secretariat on Wednesday in Jos, Plateau state capital as they officially unveiling the seal and certificate of incorporation by corporate affairs commission (CAC) as a duly registered media organization and association to carry out their legitimate businesses on the Plateau and beyond.

According to him:" as at today, the PPA has grown to twenty four members with more putting their acts together so as to get registered with PPA, the only legally recognized Publishers Association in Plateau state having secured registration with the CAC after a thorough and painstaking exercise.

"We are glad to let you know that the Commissioner of information and the director of press affairs have agreed to work with only duly registered and legally constituted association.

"Having achieved this great feat of registration with the CAC, we are going ahead with the next very important mandate of conducting elections as soon as possible before the expiration of the six months given to us.

"We intend to start the sales of forms in the middle of August, 2021. Thus, those interested in the purchase of forms to contest for any position of their choice can start by making arrangement", Gizo stated.

He also explained the form cost of various positions which includes; chairmanship N30,000, deputy Chairman N25,000, secretary N25,000, assistant secretary N20,000, Public Relations Officer N25,000, welfare secretary N15,000, Auditor N15,000, financial secretary N20,000 and treasurer N25,000 respectively.

He said based on the agreement, none of the electoral committee members should contest any elective position. The members are as follows; Chief Amos Gizo of the Citywatch Magazine, chairman, Hon. Daniel Kura of the Parrot Newspaper, secretary, Chief Mrs. Yuwana Enoch of the NewsCrest Newspaper, Treasurer, Mrs. Florence Amos of the Times Newspaper, Financial secretary and elder Yakubu Ajala of Pyem Express Journal as the Public Relations Officer.
