Rotary club of Jos Central District 9125 have handed over hospital equipments and other consumables worth millions of Naira to primary health care center Jenger in Pengana chiefdom Bassa LGA, Plateau State.

Items presented to the primary health care system includes; bedsheets, pillows, pillow case, plastic chairs, drugs as well as testing kit's.

Recall primary health care center Jenger is a brain child of Rotary club of Jos Central District 9125 that was established in 1990.

Handing over the materials on Thursday in Jenger, President of the club, Rotarian Peter Ikoyi stated that the club have seven areas of focus in tandem with its mandate which maternal mortality is one of them as the club is a service oriented that has to do with well being of the people.

He said they are more determined to ensure maintenance and continue supporting projects aim at providing development at the grassroot levels.

Explaining the rationale behind the initiative, director of community service of the club, Rotarian Kayode Fasua revealed that" some years back we built this facility which makes people life better.

"After the need assessment was conducted, this year 2022 we decided to how we can improve on the facility by providing free drugs. We are doing it for service to humanity and community."

He applauded stakeholders, primary health care management and community members for maintaining the facility over the years.

District Governor of Rotary, Rotarian Ayo Oyedokun who was represented by Rotarian Tongnaan Bawa charged beneficiaries most especially women to ensure genuine maintenance of the materials given.

While calling on the management of primary health care center Jenger to always administered drugs which is free to target beneficiaries (pregnant women), Bawa emphasize that the donors painstakingly source from their pockets, noting "Rotary is all about selfless efforts".

She assured that the club will be back from time to time to assess how equipment were being put to use.

Meanwhile, deputy director of health Bassa LGA, Mr. Tuma Bukwap shower accolades on the club for the vision and passion towards community participation and community involvement.

In the same vein, the paramount ruler, Ogomo Pengana His Royal Highness Esau Shayang urged Rotary Club of Jos Central District 9125 to continue with the good work started, calling on them to look at other areas of need assistance to reinvigorate in the healthcare system.
