The former governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Chibi Dariye said the state needs a competent, capable and visionary leadership who can steer the affairs of governance in the state come 2023 general elections.

Senator Dariye, popularly known as "Head boy, Khawun Mushere" believed that the machinery of governance in Plateau is deteriorating condition hence the need to have somebody with unquestionable character to change the narrative.

The former governor made the disclosure while addressing a mammoth crowd his reception of home coming from Abuja, held at Langfield Resort, Jos South Local Government Area on Wednesday.

Recall the Council of state four months ago granted presidential pardon to senator Joshua Dariye alongside Jolly Nyame and others from Kuje prison Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

He was on June 12th, 2018, sentenced to 14 years in prison by the operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over financial misappropriation to the tune of N1.16 billion.

In his words:"We are here to rejoice because this is the day that the Lord has made. First of all, let me thank God for his mercy, and I want to thanked president Muhammadu Buhari who was so magnanimous and gracious in granting us this presidential pardon both myself and Jolly Nyame.

"It is on this note that I am here to say thank you for your prayers, collective solidarity, and and if not for the will of God we would have not been out because some people have toy apart the rule of law I would have been in Gwagwalada but God has disappointed them so that his name will be glorified.

"It is not the time of long speech. If you have PVC then your my friend. Very soon we are going to meet again and see among the candidates who would lead us to victory and promise land. Is not about sentiment, my tribe, my turn is about competent, capability, vision and strength because the state is in dear need of good leadership.

"So, therefore, my prayers every time is that, God would bring a man with a commitment for the poor, widow, downtrodden, neglected and in the area of development he will not choose between urban and rural area roads.
So by the grace of God we will fixed this all together. 

Chairman central planning committee for senator Joshua Dariye home coming, Chief Maichibi Gbwarji said the event is very key as Senator Dariye mentor many Nigerians.

Senator Adudu, Alhaji Pama Motors, Elder Ibrahim amongst other speakers believe Dariye's return would further harmonize Plateau citizens.

According to them, " Your return to Plateau from Abuja has rekindle the bond of unity, peace and progress among Plateau citizens devoid of political party, religion or ethnic affiliation.

"We need you now more than before as the state you left behind is not the same today. You're absence has created a lot of vacuum on the leadership of Plateau. We are waiting for you to show us the direction to follow as 2023 general elections is fast approaching.
