Political Group under the umbrella of Plateau for Atiku Movement (PLAM) has called on former Governor Jonah David Jang to returned to base and explained what the State and the North Central region of the Country stance to benefit if given up the position of the Party Chairman.

The Movement led by the former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Istifanus Mwansat at a Press Conference held at the NUJ Secretariat Tuesday in Jos the Plateau State Capital said the participation of Jang in the uproar created by the G-5 Group now Integrity Group is not in the interest of the State and the Central part of the country.

He said the decisions of the G5 Governors now Integrity Group of withdrawing their participation in the Presidential Campaigns is "Tantamount to giving the Party conditions for supporting her and her candidate in the 2023 elections is not a good spirit of party politics and amounts to holding the party hostage."

They maintained that the continued opposition of the group and her members to the candidate of Abubakar Atiku even as elections draw is a clear act of sabotage and is unacceptable. "The Movement takes exception to this defiance and calls for a change of attitude and sheathing of political swords in the interest of the party."

Mwansat expressed their concerned on the activities of some BOT Members of the party who have taken side against the Presidential Candidate as worrisome especially in the involvement of former Governor of Plateau State Da. Jonah David Jang which is not the reflection of members of the party in State with a called on him to return back to base.

"We not with concern, the role played by certain members of the Board of Trustees of the Party in this challenge faced by the party. These elders and Senior stakeholders of the party are represented on the highest organ of the PDP which serves as the conscience of the party.

"For them to take sides against any candidate of the party, and the Presidential flag bearer in particular, leaves so much to be desire. We believe they should not be sectional in orientation but be there to moderate all illness of the tension and division in the party.

"We are deeply concerned by the involvement and participation of one of our elders and former Governor, Senator and member of the BOT, founding member of the PDP His Excellency, Dr. David Jonah Jang. We are constrained to say that the agitation of the group to which he is a party does not represent the thinking of the party and it's members in the State.

"Therefore, we wish to request that he should return to base in Plateau State and engage with constituents to shed more light on how the position taken by the Port Harcourt/Lagos Group affects us in the State, because members of the PDP in Plateau State do not understand the bases for his decision and actions.

"And as an important State in the North Central Zone, we seek to know what we are going to get in exchange for giving up the National Chairmanship of the party, which he supports. Since this position belongs to the North Central Zone, and we do not hold the Presidential ticket, since we have not been briefed or carried along, we see it as disservice to us for the group to continue to demand the resignation of the Chairman without spelling out the terms."

The group called for the continuation of reconciliation to enabled the Party redeemed the country from the shackles of bondage the present government has put Nigerians as they pledged their commitment to worked for all candidates of the party come 2023.

"We are aware that reconciliation has been ongoing as indicated. We therefore call on members of the group to have an open mind to the process of reconciliation and to give peace a chance.

"As a Movement, we reaffirm our total and unconditional support to the Atiku-Okowa, Mutfwang -Piyo and all other candidates of the PDP in the 2023 general elections (5/5)."
