The General Commanding officer, 3 Armour Division and Commander Operation Safe HAVEN in charged of peace and security in Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States respectively, Major Gen.EA.Abubakar has challenged youths to be productive and peace ambassadors.

Major Gen.Abubakar, the Special Task Force (STF) commander, believed that youths as a critical stakeholders in societal growth and development should be hardworking, commitment, dedication and disengaged from any social vices tantamount of tarnishing their future ambition.

The STF commander gave a thought provoking words at Rwang Pam Township Stadium Jos, over the weekend during a grand finale of the peace tournament football competition sponsored by the commander Operation Safe HAVEN.

Our correspondent reports that, the third edition of peace tournament saw Kanke Lions FC of Plateau defeated Jama'a FC of Kaduna one nill (1-0) to clinched champions as Sanga FC of Kaduna thrashed Tafawa Balewa FC of Bauchi 2-0 to claimed third position.

Represented by Brig.Gen.AA. Egbejule, commander Operation Safe HAVEN revealed the initiative is very significant in peace building process within the areas of commands' jurisdiction.

"The idea is to strength unity, harmonious relationship, peaceful coexistence and built collaboration amongst community members.

"The task of restoring peace is a collective efforts and responsibility of all and sundry. Therefore, I urged the youths to continued being a peace ambassadors in their various communities and local governments", he stated.
He also said the command would not rest in its oars as they will continue to sustain constant engagement with the stakeholders and youths towards achieving lasting peace.

Coordinator of the football peace tournament, Victor Sharra, appreciated STF commander for using their platform to broker peace.

He acknowledged the rationale behind the tournament is to bring youths together under one platform, where they can sit and understand themselves. It also served as an avenue for them to showcase and exploring their talents.

"This is also served as the non kinetic approach in the areas of jurisdiction of Operation Safe HAVEN which they had taking advantage of the platform to foster peace, especially the recent unfortunate killings in some local governments of Plateau.

"This grand finale also usher in 4th edition of the peace tournament in which we intend to organize a volleyball tournament for the ladies. We are also considering other platform such as youth summit", the coordinator hinted.
