Mrs.Josephine Piyo, Deputy Governor Plateau State handing over a certificate to Hon.Samuel Dala Umaru, the new TIC chairman Jos North

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has on Thursday, sworn in  Hon. Samuel Dala Umaru, as the Transitional Implementation Committee, TIC, Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area. 

Governor Mutfwang, represented by his Deputy, Mrs Josephine Piyo, called on him to engender unity within the local government.

The governor stated that the appointment was to fill the vacuum created by the exit of the Sole Administrator of the council following his retirement from service. 

“You must get yourself acquainted with the Vision of the  administration, aimed at engendering unity within the Local Government.

'' You are expected to channel your energy towards uniting people in Jos North, irrespective of ethnicity or religion to provide the required dividends of democracy.

“Our citizens are yearning for good governance and quality service delivery and they expect nothing less than that. It is therefore pertinent that you use your wealth of experience to serve Jos North and Plateau State better.

'' I am pleased to welcome and have you on board today as a critical stakeholder in building a new and a prosperous Plateau. I urge you to be committed and be diligent in handling all your assignments,'
The Governor further said that his administration would not tolerate any act of corruption, urging the new council boss to be guided by the fear of God and work assiduously for the peace and prosperity of the state. 

He added that his government is determined to ensure equitable provision of social and basic amenities to all strata of the society.

The governor thanked citizens for their endless support for the administration, stating that justice will prevail for Plateau people, urging them to remain optimistic amidst the prevailing challenges and trust the judicial processes.

Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deliver on the mandate bestowed on them by the good people of Plateau, stating that the government would continue to carry out its primary responsibility of ensuring the security of lives and property and creating a conducive atmosphere for citizens to carry out their lawful businesses. 

The incoming TIC chairman, Hon. Samuel Dala Umaru thanked the state government for the confidence reposed on him, promising to unite the people of Jos North LGA and promote peaceful coexistence. 

He assured to overhaul the local government, ensure it experiences development and give it the credence it deserves.
