Members of staff of the Plateau Ministry for Transportation have eulogised Mr Sunday Choji, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry who recently retired from active service.

The staff of the ministry took turns to reel out encomiums on the retiree during a send-off ceremony organised in his honour, on Friday in Jos.

Mr Jatau Davou, the Commissioner incharge of the ministry, described the erstwhile permanent secretary as a ”thorough-bred professional-cum administrator”.

Davou also described Choji as a committed and dedicated public servant, whose wealth of experience and expertise are worth emulating.

”Sir, you have been our backbone and pillar in this ministry; most of the successes recorded by this ministry came to fruition due to your dedication and commitment.

”The ongoing revitalisation of train services in Jos, the introduction of the tin city buses, rebranding of Plateau Riders Services, among many other initiatives of this ministry, were possible owing to your inputs.

”While we will miss your mentorship, we are happy that you retired in sound health.

”Our prayers is that God will grant you long life so that we can continue to tap from your experience even outside service,” Davou prayed.

Responding, the retired permanent secretary thanked God for sparing his life to serve the state up to retirement.

He thanked the commissioner and staff of the ministry for the cooperation and support accorded him throughout his tenure as permanent secretary.

Choji retired on Aug. 9, having attained the age of 60.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts to the former permanent secretary and other staff of the ministry, who recently retired from service.

Also, four promoted staff of the Vehicle Inspection units of the ministry were decorated with their new ranks during the event
