A group under the platform of the Coalition of Plateau Youth, has vehemently rebuke Sheikh Yahaya Jingir's derogatory labeling of Christians in Nigeria.
Recently Sheikh Jingir during a mass wedding in Kano State and subsequent interview by the BBC Hausa network, made an outburst called Christians "Infidels" as they are minority in Nigeria.
The development that generated widespread condemnation both within Islam and Christian followers across Nigeria.
But Coalition of Plateau Youth revealed as a respected, responsible and focused youths with brighter future, as well as the law abiding they will not go on social media and rain insult on the personality of Sheikh Jingir as they have been seen it done across the country.
Speaking to newsmen in Jos alongside other leaders of the coalition group, Gujahar Obed Dakyes said, as an elder statement and Islamic scholar, sheikh Jingir should borrow a leaf from other respected Islamic leaders such as Sheikh Masasuka, Sheikh Nura Khalid among others.
"Currently, our nation is in difficult situation of insecurity, where people are being attacked and killed on daily basis hence, we need peace synergy, peace and unity.
"How can Nigeria be a country of Muslims when we have 20 Governors out of 36 states as Christians? Out of 48 ministers 28 are Christians among other positions.
"It is with total dismay and outright condemnation for an elder like sheikh Jingir to continue sowing the seeds of discord among Nigerians", Dakyes stated.
While appreciating Jama'atu Nasir Islam Plateau State chapter and other Islamic Sect for their swift response and dissociating from sheikh Jingir comments, Dakyes tasked both Muslims and Christians to unite and disregard the drums of war beaten by sheikh Jingir.
He called President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and security agents to sermon Sheikh Jingir for questioning as no citizen is above the law.
"We therefore, call on the president, security agencies, particularly the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Police to invite sheikh Jingir and investigate such derogatory statements against Christians in Nigeria.
"Particularly the genocide against Christians communities and land grabbing in Plateau and other middle Belt states", Dakyes added.
