The Executive Secretary of Tertiary education trust fund(TETfund), Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro acknowledge the renowned citadel of learning, University of Jos has owned it's pride of place in the Nigeria University system most especially in terms of research development.

He gave the commendation when he featured as chairman during the institution's public lecture  presentedby Prof. Andrew Haruna, vice Chancellor Federal University, Gashua, Yobe state.

Bogoro who inspect the on going TETfund intervention project, building constructions initiated at university of Jos Faculty of engineering, Management Sciences, veterinary sciences and renovation and rehabilitation of burnt down permanent site library.

According to him "I am impressive. I can tell you, I look at the specific features in any on going project of  TETfund. I look at quality and evaluate the pace of execution of any infrastructure. I am happy I provided the funds."

He said university of Jos had best human resource development as two of its staff were sponsored among NRS recently.Promised to complete permanent site library within some months.

He also expressed shock where by some institutions after they have collected funds for such intervention failed to deliver on time.

"Where the project is moving slowly it has to do with leadership whether from the director of physical planning or provost in the Polytechnic due to corruption. That
should not happen to university of Jos."He concluded.

When asked about other areas TETfund should intervene, Vice Chancellor of University of Jos Prof. Seddi S. Maimako disclosed "there are areas I that want TETfund to intervene, this include construction of additional faculties for the university."

While delivering a public lecture on the topic: Linguistic problems and National Integration: plural Loyalties in a Modernizing state, prof.Andrew Haruna argues that it is not language that divides but the attitude of the speakers and the sentiment and symbolism attach to language.

"The country with the success stories lie with the ability of their leaders for having the political art of handling the diverse units together in a national community."

He bemoaned Nigeria's elites for injecting empathy to the masses, noting that where there is no justice in the allocation of resources there bound to be a conflict.

The guest lecturer observed that Nigeria must cultivate good character via justice, equity, inclusiveness and good governance devoid of creeping mutual mistrust.

You could recall  Andrew Haruna(phD), is a Professor of Language and Linguistics of over twelve years,a lecturer of over thirty five years where he has over forty publications, several reviews book translations and several unpublished seminar papers to his name. He is also a recipient of about 20 award both national and international.

However, the institution presented an award of excellence to guest lecturer and chairman of the occasion professors Suleiman Elias Bogoro and Andrew Haruna respectively.
