The Dengi constituency Lawmaker who doubles as the Deputy Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Shehu Saleh Yipmong was in array of event in his constituency which came towards the end of January. He was at the wedding of his brother, Ibrahim Shehu (Senior) who got married to Munira Musa in Tutting before going back to the Palace of Pangkwal Yipmong where he carried out a paternal responsibility as he gave his sister Khadija Shehu hand in marriage to Ubaidullah Dalhatu. The marriage was graced by prominent Political and Traditional leaders of the Local government; in attendance were: HRH the Emir of Kanam, Alh Dr Muhammad Muazu Muhammad II, HRM the Pankwal Bogghom Alh Shehu Suleiman, member representing kantana, Hudu Bala Noma, Kanam LGA Chairman, Hon Abbas Wokdung, Hon Hosea Finangwai, Commissioner of Agriculture, Hon Shuaibu Gyangyang, Hon Yahuza Kyansar, Bogghom Development Association National President, Yohanna Bawa, Salaman Kanam, Shem Damisa, APC LGA exco, APC elders forum, kanam APC caucus, Kanam legislative arm, staffs of PLHA, various ward heads, Kanam Council of Ulama, youth groups and the press.
The Emir of kanam blessed the union; describing it as a Godly act, he charged the groom's to get a legitimate means of livelihood so as to take care of the family in a legal way. He further caution traditional rulers on the dangers of giving out their Lands to strangers for farming, rearing of animals or temporary usage of any sort. Similarly, the Emir admonished youths to stay off abuse of drugs and other related substances. He called on all good citizens of Kanam to desist from any sorts of crimes and criminalities as the danger is severe and against the collective good of every family and the entire people of the localities.
The Executive Chaiman and Chief security officer of the Local government, Hon. Abbas Wokdung seized the occasion to send strong message to the teaming youths to stay off any form of criminal act especially kidnapping which rocked the Local government in some few months past. While assuring the public that the security situation is under control, he encouraged traditional rulers and all stakeholders to play their parts in the security business of the local government.
The Deputy speaker after warm reception to the traditional stools, elites, youths and women, he then took off to Bagyar to attend the coronation of Bunu Bagyar. Yipmong express his readiness to attend despite the one day notice owning to the fact that the event is the first official coronation/function of Pankwal Bagyar since accending the throne. He admonished the celebrant to be loyal at all time, serve the King in accordance to the Law thereby serving his people. He dolled out cash to the dancers and youths present.
Today been the last day of the month, Rt Hon Yipmong was at Namaran to sympathize with them over the demised of Ciroman Pangkwal Namaran. He decribed the desist as a community servant, peacemaker. Yipmong says ciroma will be greatly missed for his humility and loyalty to the king.
