At the commencement of proceedings at the tribunal sitting at the Bauchi State High Court, four petitions were listed for pre-hearing, three of which are coming from Plateau State while one is from Bauchi.

Petitions emanating from Plateau State are those of Chris Giwa verses Senator Dachungyang, Yakubu Shafi'u of NNPP verses Senator Dachungyang and that of PRP against Daniel Asama and labour party.

In all of these cases, pre-trial commenced today and parties identified processes they have filed, which encompasses the petitions, replies to the petitions as well as the petitioner's reply to the petition.

Additionally, parties also adopted their answers to the pre-hearing session and issues for determination filed before the court.

The three man election petition tribunal chaired by justice Cordelia Ogadi thereafter ruled that all interlocutory applications should be filed within forty eight hours and adjourned all petitions from Plateau State to Friday, April 19th, for hearing of intellecutory applications, in other words, motions to strike out the petitions, notice of preliminary objection challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal to hear the petitions among others.

In the meantime, Senator Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang was present in court and one of the petitioners, Shafi'u of the NNPP while Chris Giwa who filed the other petition against the election of Distinguished Senator Dachungyang was nowhere to be found.
